What got you interested in weight training?

My dad always told me to workout, so I ran track in high school. Part of the training included weight training.

What sparked your interested in competing?

After getting a degree in Exercise Physiology, and eventually starting a family, I found that everything I learned in school wasn’t working to get me back into shape post baby. I completely stopped working out for 2 years to focus on my nutrition. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon better nutrition & being around other moms who began competing that I decided to give competing a try. I figured it would motivate me to get back in the gym.

Who was the most influential person/group that made you want to weight train?

The stay at home moms & professional athletes who use the Isagenix nutrition, as well as my coach.

Where do you currently exercise?

During quarantine, my basement gym. Otherwise, Impact Fitness in Auburn, MA, Westboro Swim & Tennis, or BSC in Westboro.

How long have you been competing?

5 years

How many competitions have you entered?

12

What was your best placing and where?

2019 WNBF Pro Masters Bikini World Champion

What is your most memorable moment competing so far?

My 2019 fall season; I started off not placing, wanting to throw in the towel. Got back in touch with my why, and demanded more of myself. Placing first at Monster Mash & overall was amazing (my highest placing prior to that was 3rd at Worlds in 2017), and the icing on the cake was my win at Worlds.

What is your most surprising moment competing so far?

Finding out I was the only competitor to receive a unanimous score of 1st place in all 3 judging categories, across all bikini classes at Worlds!

What was the best workout advice you received?

Slow my workouts down instead of rushing through them.

What advice about fitness, health, etc. would you like to share with our readers?

Do it for you, for a better quality of life, so you can feel more confident in yourself. When you respect yourself enough to take good care of it, everything else falls into place.

What do you like most about the WNBF?

That it’s drug tested so I know I’m not competing with people who use drugs for an unfair advantage. It attracts people who are interested in long term health and fitness. Because we’re natural, you’ll see more competitors in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s+ competing because it’s more sustainable.

Are you involved in any other parts of the sport? Training people? (Judging? Promoting?, etc.) Not yet

What are your 2020 competition goals? Long range goals?

Become a 2-3x World Champion.

What does being a WNBF pro mean to you?

It means I’m part of an elite group of individuals who have mastered personal challenges, emotional and physical, and hold themselves to higher standards.
